Think of competing in the battle of the death, and then having to battle again against the best of the best. Scary right. This is Catching Fire the second book of the Hunger Games series. This past weekend I watched the movie, and I loved it. After the movie I instantly wanted to start reading the book. I loved the first book and I am looking forward to reading the second.

The author of the Hunger Games Series is Suzanne Collins. Currently residing in Sandy Hook, Connecticut with her husband and their two children, Suzanne Collins is Amazon.com's best-selling author of all time.Suzanne Collins has published many books such as-

LOGAN GOLDBERG PRACTICE BLOG

PROMPT #1=

For my summer reading I read Caring is Creepy by David Zimmerman. The main theme in Caring is Creepy is manipulation. One of the main examples of manipulation is when Lynn lies to Logan to keep him in the house because she likes having a friend around. Another example of manipulation was when Hayes got Lynn’s mom to help him with his drug business causing a lot of problems, like murder. This is shown in this quote…“Logan, honey, if you’ve got to go to the bathroom, you should really wait until I am here…What if my moms boyfriend came in? Then you and me would be in a world of shit. Let me tell you”(Zimmerman 200-201)…Over the course of the story manipulation emerges from Lynn starting as keeping Logan in her closet for safety, to her keeping him there because she likes the company. Multiple times in the story Lynn tells lies to keep Logan in the house, because if she had told the truth he would have left the closet. Lynn had to make him scared to leave so she told him things like his mom wasn’t going to work, so he wouldn’t leave the closet while she was at school. This shows manipulation because she could have told the truth but she manipulated Logan to keep him in the closet.
